Accesibility statement
At Starling, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all our guests. We understand the importance of accessibility and strive to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, can enjoy their experience with us. Below, you’ll find detailed information about the accessibility features of our heritage building.
-
Accessible parking spaces are available in the parking lot across the street at 70 Clarence. For easier access, we recommend dropping off guests directly in front of the main entrance by making a slow stop. Please note that the city streets may be uneven, so we encourage caution when navigating the area.
From April to October, William Street is closed to vehicle traffic, allowing for a longer stop to load and unload guests safely. Additionally, individuals with an accessible parking permit may use street parking, including a few spots directly next to the restaurant on York and William Streets. Please note that the William Street parking spots are only available from November through March when the street is open to vehicles.
When displaying an accessible parking permit, you may park in these street spots for up to 4 hours free of charge.

Starling is located in a beautiful heritage building dating back to 1875. While the main entrance has two steps, we are pleased to offer an accessible ramp upon request to ensure ease of entry for guests with mobility needs. Please don’t hesitate to contact us in advance or upon arrival, and our team will be happy to assist.
-
We have an accessible washroom located on the ground floor, designed to accommodate guests with mobility challenges. Please note that the washroom doors are not equipped with automatic push-button operators. If you require assistance, our team is always available to help.

Inside Starling, we’ve designed our space to allow for easy navigation. Our hallways are ample, and we are happy to accommodate specific seating arrangements to ensure comfort and accessibility. If you require additional space for a wheelchair, walker, stroller, or other mobility device, please let us know when making your reservation, and we will do our best to provide an ideal spot.

Our private event space is located on the second level of our heritage building. Please note that accessing this space requires climbing a flight of steps, as there is no elevator available. For the convenience of guests, washrooms are located on the same level as the event space. If you have any specific accessibility needs or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team, and we will do our best to assist.
We are committed to continuously improving the accessibility of our space and services. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about accessibility at Starling, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@starlingottawa.ca . Your feedback is invaluable in helping us create a more inclusive environment for everyone.
